Icon Rounded is an original typeface that I designed. It is a rounded sans serif typeface with thin lines. When developing this typeface, I chose a stylistic rule to follow. The rule was having slightly squared curves in each letterform. These slightly squared curves differ from most rounded typefaces which generally have more circular curves. I believe that this stylistic choice makes my typeface appear serious, professional, and less playful than the average rounded typeface.
Compare Icon Rounded with Odin Rounded. Odin Rounded was designed by Frank Hemmekam and is closer to a typical rounded typeface. Note the effect in tone that this “squared curve” style choice has on Icon Rounded:
With its thin lines, rounded ends, and professional tone, this typeface is highly complementary to modern rounded iconography and illustrations.
I also turned this typeface into a working font.
